COPAN 400M uses the same Enterprise MAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks) platform and MAID enhancing technologies, including COPAN 400T/TX Virtual Tape Library (VTL) products. However, COPAN 400M does not require a separate processing layer to host the disk personality. Instead, its third tier is replaced by the disk-based application that can directly access the storage shelves.
