SGI certifies and provides support for KVM on Red Hat RHEL 6 and later releases. SGI platforms certified with RedHat can be found on the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization website.
A SUSE partner, SGI certifies and provides support for KVM on SUSE SLES 11SP1 and later releases. SUSE SLES 11 SP1 is currently certified on many SGI platforms including UV.
Hyper-V is a key feature of Windows Server 2008 R2. It is certified on many SGI servers. Certified SGI servers are found in the Microsoft Windows Server Catalog.
Virtualizing at the host operating system, Parallels Virtuozzo Containers provides a common virtualization layer that allocates system resources across all virtual servers. PVC results in an efficient virtualization layer with an overhead of only 2%. A PVC container can make use of the full resources of the underlying system available in a virtual environment. PVC is certified on SGI UV 100 and UV 1000 and will by available in third quarter 2011. | |
