Jolt for SGI UV systems is a powerful upgrade to the well received NUMAlink® 5 interconnect. It will boost SGI UV architectural scalability up to 262,000 processing cores and 8 petabytes (PB) of global addressable memory. Users will enjoy significantly improved bandwidth and latency performance for applications that require more memory or interconnect performance. All previously installed SGI UV systems can be upgraded with the Jolt technology for SGI UV.

For SGI UV systems that will require 2 or more racks, a slight modification has been made to the cabinet itself. In order to minimize cabling issues, SGI has created a cabling spacer which will reduce potential cabling problems, and provide a more robust environment for systems at a very large scale.
