SGI's management team is comprised of industry veterans with expertise in server hardware and software, visualization, data center operations, professional services and contract manufacturing.


		Ron Verdoorn Chairman of the Board & Interim Chief Executive Officer [+] Full Bio Ronald D. Verdoorn joined Rackable Systems as a director in March 2005. From January 1999 to 2002, Mr. Verdoorn served as Executive Vice President of Global Operations for Affymetrix, Inc., a company specializing in the development of technology for acquiring and managing complex genetic information for use in biomedical research, genomics and clinical diagnostics, following which he continued as a consultant until December 2003. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Verdoorn served as an independent consultant to the hard disk drive industry. From 1983 to 1997, Mr. Verdoorn held a number of positions with Seagate Technology, Inc., most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Storage Products. Mr. Verdoorn has a B.A. in Sociology from Linfield College.

		Franz Aman Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer [+] Full Bio As Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Franz is responsible for global marketing and brand positioning, product management, and demand creation. Prior to joining SGI, Franz was vice president of new product concepts at SAP Labs. Previously, he served as SAP's vice president of business intelligence (BI) and enterprise information management marketing, extending the company's number one position in the BI market. Before joining SAP, Franz held corporate marketing leadership positions at Business Objects and BEA Systems, with a focus on growing the companies' brands and reach in the market. He also spent time in leading marketing and engineering roles for both software and hardware products at Sun Microsystems.

		Tony Carrozza Executive Vice President of Field Operations [+] Full Bio As Executive Vice President, Field Operations, Tony leads all customer-facing activities on a worldwide basis in a single, integrated organization ranging from pre-Sales and Sales to Professional and Technical Services. Prior to his expanded role, Tony was SGI's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Tony brings more than 30 years of high tech sales and leadership experience to SGI. Before joining the company, Tony was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Quantum Corporation, where he managed a 200 person sales and support organization that generated more than $800 million in revenues. While at Quantum, Tony also served as VP of Worldwide Sales for the DLT Tape Group and VP of Sales Strategy and Business Planning. He also held management positions at Neterion Inc. and Iomega Corporation, and holds a B.A. from Iona College in New York.

		Eng Lim Goh, Ph.D. Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer [+] Full Bio Dr. Eng Lim Goh joined SGI in 1989, becoming a chief engineer in 1998 and then chief technology officer in 2001. He oversees technical computing programs with the goal to develop the next generation computer architecture for the new many-core era. In 2005, InfoWorld named Dr. Goh one of the World's 25 Most Influential CTOs. That same year he was also included in the HPCwire list of "15 People to Watch." In 2007, he was named "Champions 2.0" of the industry by BioIT World magazine, and received the HPC Community Recognition Award from HPCwire. Dr. Goh is a frequent industry speaker and he continues to discuss, in different forums, innovative technologies and their applications. Before joining SGI, Dr. Goh worked for Intergraph Systems, Schlumberger Wireline and Shell Research. A Shell Cambridge University Scholar, Dr. Goh completed his Ph.D. research and dissertation on parallel architectures and computer graphics, and holds a first-class honors degree in mechanical engineering from Birmingham University in the U.K. Dr. Goh has been granted four U.S. patents, two of which as the inventor and the others as co-inventor.

		Dick Harkness Senior Vice President of Manufacturing [+] Full Bio As Senior Vice President of Manufacturing, Dick leads SGI's worldwide supply chain and manufacturing functions, from the company's manufacturing facilities in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Since joining SGI in 1991, Dick has held a variety of progressive responsibilities in materials and operations management. Prior to joining SGI, Dick had several positions in manufacturing and supply chain management with Unisys and Convergent Technologies. Dick received his B.S. in Business Management from San Jose State University.

		Praveen Mandal Senior Vice President of Engineering [+] Full Bio As Senior Vice President of Engineering, Praveen leads all engineering efforts related to the company's server, storage and software products. Praveen brings over 20 years of high technology engineering experience to the role. Prior to joining SGI, he was president and founder of California-based Coulomb Technologies where he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s business, including research and development, product management and technical support. While there, he grew the company to an organization of over 100 employees and to a leader in networked charging stations for electric vehicles. Prior to Coulomb, Praveen served as vice president of Research and Development for Carrier Ethernet Solutions at Lucent Technologies. Before joining Lucent through an acquisition, he served as vice president of Engineering at Riverstone Networks Inc. Praveen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University, and co-authored four patents.

		Dominic Martinelli Chief Information Officer [+] Full Bio As Chief Information Officer, Dominic has global responsibility for IT Applications and Operations at SGI. With 15 years of IT experience in fast-paced high tech environments, he has developed technical knowledge in areas of servers, storage, networking, and enterprise applications. Prior to joining the company, Dominic worked at Juniper Networks where he held global responsibility for all networks, servers, and storage infrastructures. Dominic holds a BA from UC Santa Cruz.

		Tim Pebworth Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer [+] Full Bio As Chief Accounting Officer, Tim oversees worldwide accounting, treasury and order administration at SGI. He ensures the Americas, Asia Pacific and European finance organizations provide value added services to the operations while delivering necessary SEC and local reporting. Prior to joining SGI, Tim worked as Corporate Controller and later as Chief Financial Officer of 24/7 Customer, Inc., a leading business process outsourcer. Previous to 24/7 Customer, Tim worked at Intel Corporation in various corporate and operational finance management roles in Corporate Financial Planning, the Technology Manufacturing Group, the Itanium Processor Division, and the Intel Inside® Program. Tim received his M.B.A. from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management and his B.A. from Ambassador College in Pasadena, California. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant.

		Jennifer Pileggi Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary [+] Full Bio As Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Jennifer oversees worldwide legal affairs, including securities law and other regulatory matters, corporate governance, ethics and compliance, intellectual property, financial transactions and general corporate matters, and provides leadership and direction to the company's legal staff and outside counsel. Prior to joining SGI, Jennifer was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW), a $5 billion freight transportation and logistics services company now headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI. As the company's chief attorney, Jennifer managed the company's legal staff and had ultimate responsibility for all legal and compliance functions. She previously served as Vice President and Corporate Counsel for Menlo Worldwide, Con-way's $1.5 billion supply chain management business segment, a position she had held since 2003. Jennifer started her career in 1996 as the first attorney for Menlo Worldwide's logistics subsidiary, Menlo Logistics. An attorney with 21 years of experience in corporate law, Jennifer started her legal career in 1990 with Heller, Ehrman, White and McAuliffe in San Francisco, Calif. Jennifer earned a bachelor's degree in art history from Yale University, where she graduated with honors. She earned her J.D. degree from the New York University School of Law and is a member of the American Bar Association and the California State Bar Association. She served on the Board of Directors of the California Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the General Counsel Executive Advisory Council of the Bay Area Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.

		Jennifer Pratt Senior Vice President of Human Resources [+] Full Bio Jennifer has worldwide responsibility for all Human Resources activities including compensation, benefits, stock administration, recruitment and facilities, and serves as a liaison with Legal. Jennifer has over 20 years HR experience and brings strategic expertise to all aspects of HR management, including partnering with the executive team on the design and implementation of strategic change. Prior to joining SGI, Jennifer held senior management positions in a variety of industries including technology, manufacturing and healthcare. Jennifer holds a B.S in Business Administration from Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa.

		Rick Rinehart Senior Vice President of Services [+] Full Bio As Senior Vice President of Services, Rick manages the worldwide services organization, overseeing customer support, professional services, field service, spares and warranty management, and remedial maintenance services. Rick comes to SGI from Sun Microsystems (now Oracle) where, as vice president of global customer services, he managed a 1,200-person service delivery team that supported over $1.4B in services revenue. Prior to Sun, he was at StorageTek where he led the federal government services sales and delivery functions with overall responsibility for support and professional services. Rick held sales and services leadership positions at NCR Government Systems and served in the US Army for 10 years. He holds a BS in Information Systems from the University of Maryland and an MS in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.

		Jim Wheat Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer [+] Full Bio Jim has a long history of executive and financial leadership within prominent public and private technology organizations. Prior to joining SGI, Wheat served as Vice President and Corporate Controller at Lam Research. Jim also held senior financial management positions within a number of public technology companies, including the role of acting principal financial officer at Asyst Technology, senior director of finance at Sybase Inc., and vice president and corporate controller at Sunterra Corporation. In addition, Jim held senior finance positions at TeleVideo, Raychem Corporation, Core-Mark International, Spectra-Physics and Honeywell. Jim earned his MBA at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his BBA at the University of Michigan.
